Emma aka The Evil Shush Lady can usually be found sitting at the desk at any Footlights rehearsal or dance exam - usually filling out paperwork and giggling. Responsible for all Footlights Business Admin and keeping all the creative types (Michelle) in check when it comes to following a process!
Emma started dancing at the age of 5 and instantly fell in love with Ballet and Musical Theatre. She studied RAD and BBO ballet up to Intermediate Level and then life intervened and she hung up her ballet shoes. The love of dancing never went away and being the first on the dance floor earned her the nickname "Dancing Emma" amongst friends for many years.
"When I gave birth to my daughter I literally punched the air and I could not wait until Mia was old enough to start dance - thank goodness she loves it!". We joined the Footlights Family in 2011 and I volunteered to help with a small bit of admin in 2012 - look where that got me!
Emma works as a professional Virtual Assistant helping many dance schools with their Business Admin. "I will always be thankful that Michelle took me up on my offer of help all those years ago - I get to marry my love of dancing to my love of a process every day!".
We asked every Footlights team member to answer the following questions so that we can get to know the person behind the purple t-shirt!
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT WORKING WITH FOOTLIGHTS:
I love being part of something that brings joy to so many people. Working with creative people who have the ability to inspire students to work harder and be better makes me want to be better! The biggest joy for me though is being a part of the process that makes memories for others - that is special.
