MIA DAVIES
Miss Mia has been dancing at Footlights Dance School since 2011 when she was just 3 years old. After qualifying as a dance teacher in July 2025 she cannot wait to start teaching classes.

Miss Mia stepped into her first dance class at 2 years old, she ended up not actually enjoying the class and didn't take any until she was 3 years old. Of course that lesson was at Footlights with Miss Michelle and she is still here four times a week in Ballet, Tap, Lyrical and Freestyle classes nearly 15 years later! In those 15 years she has experienced so many amazing opportunities like dancing at theatres such as Saddlers Wells, His Majesties Theatre, The Wolverhampton Grand, Theatre Severn; and she of course danced at the recent Disneyland trip but also went in 2016; we danced at the Blackpool tower Ballroom and so many more events and performance opportunities.
She loves performing with Footlights and has also been regularly taking her dance exams in Freestyle, Ballet and Tap. She has recently taken her Advanced 2 Ballet exam and her Advanced 1 Tap exam. Footlights is a huge part of her dancing life but she also loves to get involved with some backstage help, class help and other bits and bobs too so if a performance opportunity isn't for her, she'll still try and be there someway or another!
She has attended Birmingham Ormiston Acacemy (BOA) for 3 years and is going into her final year in September 2025. Attending this performing arts school has helped to improve different aspects of Mia within the umbrella of dance, such as a new element of creativity, a new love for choreography plus more skills and knowledge.
A huge part of dancing that she will always love has been the friends made throughout the last 15 years and she will always be grateful that Footlights let her find those girls! They get to laugh together, dance together onstage and in class and have got to experience so many things with each other. Of course the dancing bit is fun too!!! "Performing is such a thrilling and exciting experience and not just because you're onstage in sparkly costumes but also because the vibes backstage and side stage are so bubbly!"
Funnily enough, for years she never wanted to be a dance teacher but since she began assisting in classes a couple of years ago she found a new desire for teaching because she gets to celebrate the small wins at all ages - skipping especially! She gets to pass on her skills and knowledge to other students who aspire to be strong, beautiful dancers and helps them build their own skills and create lots of achievements.
We asked every Footlights team member to answer the following questions so that we can get to know the person behind the purple t-shirt!
